Sue was born in Sydney to an Aboriginal mother from Wiradjuri country. She grew up with her adoptive family near Batlow, in New South Wales.Sue’s first book, Grace Beside Me, was published in 2012. In the same year, Sue was awarded one of the first kuril dhagun Indigenous Writing Fellowships.
