Dylan is a Kokatha (Gugada) Aboriginal–Greek woman from the far west of South Australia. She works across a range of areas in Aboriginal education, health, land rights and the arts, with a focus on community engagement and social justice. Dylan has a PhD in creative writing from the University of Adelaide, where she lectures in Indigenous health. Her first novel, Mazin Grace, won the David Unaipon Award in 2011.
