Dr Anita Heiss is a member of the Wiradjuri nation of central New South Wales. She has published widely, including children's books, non-fiction, chicklit, poetry and social commentary.

She travels internationally performing her work and lecturing on Indigenous Studies. Anita co-edited the Macquarie Pen Anthology of Aboriginal Literature.
